About This Site

With our second child on the way the idea of a family web site seemed like a good one. In anticipation of two more feet in the family the domain 8feet.com was purchased in July.

Rather than galvanizing us to publish lots of stuff on the web the arrival of Alfie meant we had even less time for creating web sites. Simon was obsessing with prehistoric sites, so the 8feet.com web site took a back seat.

Lots of tinkering behind the scenes, but still no web site.

At last, in June 8feet.com was launched. Ironically the launch of the new site coincided with the birth of our third child Emily, so the name 8feet made no sense (there were now five of us, with a total of ten feet).

In July the web site becomes 10feet.org (the same old web site, but with a new name).

A new look site is launched in September, and the words 'formerly known as 8feet.com' disappear from the site banner.

Blogs for Simon, Louise and William tentatively introduced in January.
